Our school lunches are provided by Red Hen Cookery who took over the catering contract for school lunches at Belbroughton C of E Primary School on 4th September 2024. They have provided the following information about themselves;

 To give you a quick introduction, we’re a family run business that has been operating for over 10 years from our base in Worcester. Our primary focus is to deliver healthy and nutritious meals that are specifically created for children, taking careful consideration of their dietary needs and preferences. We understand the importance of encouraging healthy eating habits in children as they develop, which is why our menus reflect a balance of nutritious ingredients brought together in dishes that children will enjoy. We run a three-week menu rotation and we typically refresh the menu every half term.

 We make as much of the food ourselves as we can. For example, all our cakes and sauces are freshly made by our kitchen team so there are no additives or preservatives and plenty of extra hidden vegetables in the sauces.

 Our lunches cost £2.41 per child per day. This includes a hot main/vegetarian option or a jacket potato option, plus dessert. In addition, the children can choose freshly baked baguette slices and salad crudites. We also offer a packed lunch option that includes a ham, cheese or tuna mayo sandwich. In addition, each packed lunch contains a piece of fresh fruit, an individual savory snack pot such as popcorn, fruit fromage frais and a sweet treat. Our packed lunch option is the same price as our main meals at £2.41.

 Our website includes an easy-to-use ordering system and school will also send you our guide to ordering. This has all the information on how to register an account on our website and place orders for September. It also has key dates for when to register and when ordering for September will be available from. We take allergens and food intolerances very seriously and our website also allows you to capture these details for your child if applicable.

If you do have any specific questions do feel free to get in touch with our office team at info@redhencookery.co.uk

Lunch Times

There is a team of lunchtime supervisors on duty throughout the lunch break. The children are encouraged, but never forced, to finish their meal.  We encourage good table manners but they are allowed to relax and talk just as adults do during the meal.

Break Times

Children may have milk.  This is purchased on line from www.coolmilk.com and is delivered daily. We encourage the eating of fruit at break times and, as part of a government scheme, KS1 children are entitled to a free, high quality, piece of fruit each morning break.  Children in KS2 may bring in a piece of fruit or other healthy snack from home if they wish.  Sweets, crisps and biscuits are prohibited.

Children may bring in a drink for break time. No glass bottles or fizzy drinks please
